Great coverage today in the Maryland Daily Record for Lawrence Law, LLC's acceptance into the elite National Association of Minority and Women Owned Firms (NAMWOLF). NAMWOLF is a selective association that promotes diversity in the legal profession by fostering successful relationships among preeminent minority and women-owned law firms and private/public entities. NAMWOLF member firms go through an onerous vetting process to ensure they meet the high-quality standards that Fortune 500 companies demand. The process focused on the firm’s Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) status, reputation, client references, awards, recognition, and practice area expertise. In all, the process took almost 6 months, but was well worth the effort. Lawrence Law’s acceptance into NAMWOLF and certification as a women-owned business is a significant achievement to many of our clients for whom diversity, equity, and inclusion matter when seeking outside counsel. (If you're outside of Maryland and not a Maryland Daily Record subscriber, message one of Lawrence Law's attorneys for the full article.) ... See more

Dear Clients and Friends:

The FFCRA, about which we wrote to you last week, becomes effective today. As we explained in our prior correspondence, the FFCRA places potentially significant burdens on all Maryland employers.

Late last week, Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (“CARES”) Act. The CARES Act should substantially ease the burdens of the FFCRA on small businesses by providing easy access to loans that are virtually interest free, and at least partially forgivable. Some loans will, in fact, be totally forgivable. As we did with the FFCRA, we have provided additional details in the attached summary.

We remain, as always, honored by your trust and available to assist you, both through the challenges to come and during the better days that we are confident lie ahead.
