Founded in 2013 by Catherine “Kate” Lawrence, Lawrence Law was built with the intention to be a construction law practice after Kate spent several years working as a business lawyer and litigator. Under her leadership from 2013 to 2019, Lawrence Law focused exclusively on serving the legal needs of the construction industry, and Kate grew the firm to be an established leader in the construction field while serving as an industry leader herself. She currently holds leadership positions in multiple industry trade organizations, including serving on the board and as the chapter attorney for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Greater Baltimore.

Today, Lawrence Law proudly serves as a woman-owned, boutique law firm that excels at relating to and advocating for our construction clients in addition to our growing and minority-owned business clients. Our years of commercial construction experience and community involvement put us in the best position to forge strong partnerships within niche industries and educate on relevant legal knowledge that helps people take action, inspire progress, and fortify resilience.

Under Kate’s leadership, Lawrence Law represents a broad spectrum of clients in day-to-day legal advice, routine litigation, and high-stakes litigation and prosecutions. Our attorneys bring in-depth experience, professionalism, and responsiveness to every client issue. When litigation is necessary, Lawrence Law attorneys have a proven record of success in complex and high-profile cases across the nation and are aggressive, trial-ready, and focus on the heart of a dispute.

Lawrence Law is a member of National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF), and members of our team also dedicate their time and expertise to organizations such as ABC Greater Baltimore and ABC Chesapeake, American Subcontractors Association (ASA), Project Jumpstart, Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), and more.

Lawrence Law’s main office is part of its identity. Located at top of The Warehouse at Camden Yards, the office overlooks Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The views and welcoming atmosphere provide a unique, fresh setting for Lawrence Law’s team and our clients. The building is easily accessible, and our clients and visitors enjoy free VIP parking.

Our Mission

To be a trusted legal partner that empowers construction companies and business owners across a variety of industries to build with confidence, resolve disputes with strength, and grow without limits.

Our Culture

So many lawyers are known to offer their services, bill their clients, and move on, but we strive to be different. We believe lawyers don’t need to be detached, aggressive, or intimidating to do a great job. We take pride in being approachable and personable, building long-term relationships, listening closely to our clients, and working together to create the best outcomes.

Here are a few key ways we stand out from your typical law firm:

INDUSTRY INTEL & EDUCATION

Since Lawrence Law’s inception in 2013, our founder Kate Lawrence has worked tirelessly to position our firm as confidants, advisors, educators, and advocators for Greater Baltimore’s commercial construction industry and its growing businesses.

This long-term commitment has earned Lawrence Law inside-industry intel for construction clients as well as the trust of a variety of professionals to educate them on ways to better their business.

STRATEGIC COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

We provide more than just legal services to our clients—we make strategic connections. These fortified relationships not only strengthen our clients’ businesses but improve the places where we live and work. Our team prioritizes being active in the Baltimore community and the industries we serve to create an iron-clad support network that drives sustainable growth for everyday, essential businesses.

Members of our team also dedicate their time and expertise to organizations such as Associated Builders and Contractors, American Subcontractor Association, National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms, Project Jumpstart, Community College of Baltimore County, and more.

STEADFAST LEGAL SUPPORT

You want dependable legal support for your business that doesn’t cut corners or rack up additional charges by the hour. Lawrence Law delivers. Our firm empowers construction companies and businesses owners to build with confidence, resolve disputes with strength, and grow without limits.

One way we fulfill this promise is with our In-House Counsel Program. Created to relieve some of the common cost anxieties that come with working with a law firm, the In-House Counsel Program is a beneficial resource for growing businesses that constantly strive to be better.

Available at an established, yearly fee, the program covers a set number of services, including contract review and collection management, and helps our clients be prepared for every “what if” scenario and avoid any possible pitfalls. Best of all, communication with our team via emails and calls is always covered at no additional cost.

LIVED-IN BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

We don’t just serve minority-owned, small, and local businesses—we are one. As a woman-owned, boutique law firm, we can relate to and advocate for you on a level bigger firms simply cannot. Here, we prioritize value over volume and you and your business’ success over getting your dime.

We believe being a good lawyer doesn’t mean you have to be intimidating, emotionless, or the only smart person in the room. We pride ourselves on being personable, truly caring about and listening to our clients, and putting our heads together to deliver the best solutions.
